<div><h3>Overview</h3><p>Our unique, integrated acute/community Nutrition and Dietetic Department is searching for a Rotational Band 5 Dietitian to join a team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust, including the National Spinal Injuries Centre and the regional Burns Centre. We offer excellent opportunities for learning and support through preceptorship, clinical supervision, peer learning and CPD, including supporting B & C student placements. We value our staff and actively promote staff wellbeing, inclusivity and equality.</p><p>We have eight‑month rotations across the Trust in four areas:</p><ul><li>Amersham Hospital: A community‑based rotation covering rehab wards, GP clinics, home visits and a small home enteral feeding caseload.</li><li>Stoke Mandeville Hospital – Medicine: Focus on endocrinology, gastroenterology, haematology and respiratory medicine.</li><li>Stoke Mandeville Hospital – Surgery: Focus on emergency surgery, obstetrics & gynaecology, ophthalmic, orthopaedic & plastic surgery and urology, including a general out‑patient clinic.</li><li>Wycombe Hospital: Focus on elective surgery and stroke rehabilitation.</li></ul><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><ul><li>Work as part of the dietetic team to provide nutrition and dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.</li><li>Provide specialised assessment, treatment and support of patients requiring dietetic treatment.</li><li>Prescribe dietary treatment and advise on the use of ACBS products, including enteral feeds and nutritional supplements, based on interpretation of nutritional assessment.</li><li>Be responsible for discharge planning of patients to home and other locations on enteral feeds, including extensive communication with outside agencies (primary healthcare staff, relatives and carers, commercial suppliers), organisation of supplies of equipment, feed and training.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Education, Qualifications & Training</h3><ul><li>BSc Dietetics or equivalent</li><li>HPC Registration</li><li>Evidence of continuous professional development</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Experience in dietetic assessment, treatment and care planning.</li><li>Experience of oral and enteral nutrition support.</li><li>Experience working in a community or acute setting.</li><li>Experience of MDT working/communicating with partner health‑care professionals such as nurses, GPs, pharmacists and speech and language therapists.</li></ul><h3>Skills, Abilities & Knowledge</h3><ul><li>Working knowledge of commonly used feeds and supplements.</li><li>Knowledge and application of anthropometric measures and biochemistry interpretation in dietetic assessment.</li><li>Awareness of regulatory bodies (HCPC) and professional bodies (BDA) code of practice and professional guidelines.</li><li>Commitment to engage in CPD and departmental appraisal system.</li><li>Competent user of IT equipment and basic software (email, RIO).</li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to both staff and patients.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Ability to prioritise and manage own caseload and time.</li><li>Ability to work well under pressure.</li><li>Knowledge of clinical governance and evidence‑based practice.</li><li>Ability to plan and deliver training sessions to health‑care professionals.</li><li>Demonstrated initiative and ability to develop professionally.</li></ul><h3>Special Circumstances</h3><ul><li>Ability to travel cross‑site if required.</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
