Do you have a passion for making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are searching for an exceptional Learning Disability Teaching Assistant to join a specialised academy in the Gainsborough area. This is a chance to become a vital part of a team that empowers students to overcome challenges and achieve their personal best.

This role is for someone who believes in nurturing potential and helping every student find their "Can Do" spirit. The academy provides a tailored education for young people aged 11 to 19 with a wide spectrum of complex learning needs, including autism, dyslexia, Asperger's, and moderate to profound learning difficulties. If you are a compassionate and experienced professional, ready to build meaningful connections, we encourage you to apply.

Your Mission: The Core of the Role

This isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to be a consistent and supportive presence in a student’s educational journey. Guided by the school’s values, your day will be dynamic and rewarding. You’ll be instrumental in creating an environment where every student feels valued, understood, and safe.

Responsibilities

* Support & Facilitation: You will assist students in navigating a rich, bespoke curriculum, helping them achieve their individual learning goals.

* Personalised Care: Provide essential support for personal care, mobility, and communication, ensuring dignity and comfort are maintained.

* Empowerment: Use your understanding of complex needs to help students develop self-regulation, social skills, and the independence to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

* Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with a team of teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and champion the holistic development of each student.

What We’re Looking For

* Previous experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities and complex needs is highly desirable.

* An empathetic, patient, and resilient approach to supporting a diverse range of students.

* A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to apply for one.

* Knowledge of communication aids like PECS or Makaton is a significant plus, but not essential.

Working with Us

You will be part of a team that invests in you. We offer:

* Access to free, accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

* Competitive weekly pay and flexible roles.

* The profound satisfaction of making a lasting impact on young people’s lives.
