ICT/Computer Science Teacher

Grateley House School is a specialist day school for children and young people aged 11-19 with a diagnosis of autism and other associated needs. We are seeking a dynamic, committed, and innovative educator to take on the role of ICT Teacher.
The school delivers the National Curriculum and students are supported to access a range of subjects by experienced subject teachers and teaching assistants, with input from a therapy team. The successful candidate will ensure that our students engage in learning and are equipped with all the tools they need to progress.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver lessons in Computer Science and ICT, aligned with the National Curriculum across Key Stages 3 – 4, up to GCSE level
2. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of SEN learners
3. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their ICT skills
4. Foster creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression in students
5. Play and active role in the extra-curricular life of the school
6. Work effectively within a supporting and high achieving team.
What we are looking for:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
8. Experience of teaching Computer Science/ICT at KS3 and KS4, and working alongside teaching assistants to ensure the best outcomes for students
9. Excellent classroom management skills and a desire to try new strategies to ensure students engage with the subject
10. A reflective practitioner who is committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning
11. Leadership experience in curriculum development or a similar capacity is desirable
12. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
13. A commitment to whole-school values and working collaboratively to support student development
14. Have experience of working with young people with special educational needs
15. A forward-thinking educator with the vision and enthusiasm to help shape the future of ICT/Computer Science education at Grateley House School
