Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer will lead improvement efforts by partnering with production and maintenance teams to identify opportunities and apply technical expertise to develop effective solutions. This is a hands‑on role requiring ownership of projects from design through implementation, including completion of as‑built drawings.
Candidates must be willing to support scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
* BS in Engineering
* Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS or similar 3D CAD software
* Experience designing, fabricating, and installing mechanical equipment
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Understanding of lubrication practices and fluid pumping systems
* Project management experience
* Proficiency in AutoCAD
