Overview
Trauma Orthopaedic Surgical wards at Pilgrim Hospital are looking to recruit experienced and new to care Health Care Support Workers. We are seeking highly motivated individuals eager to work in a busy, demanding environment with excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. The clinical role will support registered nurses and other health professionals in delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Support registered nurses and other health professionals in delivering clinical and non-clinical duties including nutritional support, observations, maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and independence.
* Assist with and develop skills in cannulation, venepuncture, and simple wound care.
* Provide comprehensive and compassionate patient care across a spectrum of nursing needs.
* Work under the direction and supervision of a qualified nurse, consistently adhering to legislation, policies, procedures, and ULHT values and standards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in a health/care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
* Excellent communication skills and a strong team orientation.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality, safe, and compassionate care.
Training & Development
The successful candidate will receive an induction program and be supported to develop extended roles such as venepuncture, medical observations and other clinical skillsets.
Employment Conditions
Employment is within an established Trauma Orthopaedic team, operating under a qualified nurse. Sponsorship is currently not available for this position.
