The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the site ergonomics strategy while simultaneously managing the full lifecycle of jigs, fixtures, and tooling for new and existing programs. This role oversees both people and processes, ensures alignment with Safran standards, and drives the integration of ergonomic and tooling considerations from the earliest stages of programme development. The role acts as the central hub connecting Industrialisation, engineering, operations, HSE, and corporate ergonomics. Key Responsibilities will include: · Lead the site's ergonomics and tooling strategy, ensuring both are embedded into industrial processes and project plans. · Establish annual objectives in collaboration with HSE, industrialisation, Engineering, and Operations. · Act as the primary site contact for corporate ergonomists and tooling standards. · Directly manage a multidisciplinary team, including workstation designers, and tooling technicians. · Set team goals, allocate workloads, conduct performance reviews, and ensure role clarity. · Coach, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen technical capability and professional growth. · Build a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service to operations. · Facilitate effective communication and alignment across Industrial, Engineering, HSE, Supply Chain, and Quality. · Manage jigs, fixtures, and tooling from program concept through industrialization and production. · Define tooling requirements with design engineering and operations, ensuring ergonomic principles and operator safety are built into all designs. · Oversee tooling design, validation, procurement, installation, commissioning, and change control. · Review and approve tooling layouts, risk assessments, and CAPEX requests. · Oversee the complete ergonomics assessment process, ensuring effective scheduling, validation, execution, and follow-up. · Maintain ergonomic KPIs, risk maps, and action plans, ensuring accurate tracking across the site. · Conduct or review ergonomic analyses and develop recommendations to reduce risk and improve operational efficiency. · Capture and deploy best practices and lessons learned across current and future programs. · Lead training programs for ergonomics, PRAP assessors, workstation designers, and tooling stakeholders. · Promote ergonomic awareness and foster proactive engagement across project teams. · Encourage the sharing and integration of best practices to support ongoing site improvement. Candidate skills & requirements Candidate requirements: - HND/ HNC gained through an apprenticeship. - Fundamental understanding of ergonomics principles and practices. - Ability to analyse work situations and identify ergonomic risk factors - Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and improvement projects. - Completion of Safran "Ergonomics Correspondent" training and PRAP assessor certification (or willingness to obtain). - Familiarity with stakeholder groups such as Corporate/Site Ergonomists, Group - - Ergonomics Program Consultants (Safran SDD), Operational Managers, and HSE Teams. - CATIA 3D CAD modelling software - PFMEA - Good knowledge of manufacturing processes - Ability to train and mentor less experienced team members - Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and coordinate complex activities.
