The role
As a Programme Delivery Director, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most critical defence programmes. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll shape and execute strategy, lead large multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the seamless delivery of major warship support programmes.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead the delivery of complex, high-value programmes, ensuring performance, safety, and collaboration are at the forefront of every decision.
1. Building and leading integrated delivery teams across Project Management, Engineering, SHEQ, Commercial, and Supply Chain
2. Acting as the primary interface with customers and strategic partners
3. Driving continuous improvement and business transformation
4. Championing safety first culture and meeting contractual HSSE obligations
5. Achieving or exceeding financial targets including revenue, margin, and cash flow
Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires ad hoc travel to Rosyth based on Project and team requirements.
Essential experience of the Programme Delivery Director
6. Extensive leadership experience in industrial environments, guiding large multidisciplinary teams
7. Proven track record of delivering major programmes in regulated sectors
8. Experience leading projects from bid through delivery to close-out
9. Strong stakeholder management, including Military and Government engagement
10. Deep knowledge of project controls, risk, cost management, and supply chain performance
Qualifications for the Programme Delivery Director
11. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project or Construction Management (postgraduate qualification desirable)
12. APM Chartered (ChPP) or willingness to obtain within 12 months
13. Relevant professional membership (e.g., APM, PMI, ICE, IET) desirable
14. Proven/demonstrable experience will also be considered
