Overall job purpose: To manage the sourcing and procurement of production equipment and non-product related (NPR) goods and services globally. In this role you will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate supplier contracts and drive efficiency, value creation and cost savings throughout CyDen’s value chain supporting our production locations in China as well as UK and our HQ in Swansea. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing: · Develop and execute sourcing strategies for production equipment and NPR categories such as MRO, facilities, IT, and professional services. · Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure a competitive and resilient supply base. · Align procurement strategies with business and operational requirements in close cooperation with the engineering, production and finance teams. Capex and Equipment Procurement: · Lead sourcing of capital equipment, ensuring best total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle value. · Collaborate with engineering and operations to define equipment specifications and vendor selection criteria. · Identify machine building suppliers that deliver cost effective turnkey solutions · Ensure delivery and commissioning of equipment is in line with project timelines Supplier Relationship Management: · Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure service level performance, innovation, and continuous improvement. · Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and manage supplier development initiatives. · Lead contract negotiations and ensure compliance with agreed terms. (cost, leadtime, quality) Cost Optimization and Value Engineering: · Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across assigned spend categories. · Work closely with stakeholders to drive value beyond price through demand management, process improvement, and specification alignment. · Support budgeting and forecasting for procurement-related costs. Compliance and Risk Management: · Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. · Manage risk exposure by diversifying supply and developing contingency plans. Market and Spend Analysis: · Monitor market trends, cost drivers, and regulatory developments impacting NPR goods and production equipment. · Conduct spend and supplier analytics to identify sourcing opportunities and improve spend visibility. Experience/ Skills: Essential · At least 7-10 years of experience in procurement or sourcing of NPR goods and/or production equipment · Proven track record in supplier negotiation and contract management · Knowledge of procurement processes and capital equipment lifecycle Desirable Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or regulated industry Familiarity with ERP and e-sourcing platforms Experience managing Capex projects and TCO analyses Education/ Qualifications/ Training: Essential · Engineering Degree and proven commercial acumen · Expertise in working with Chinese/Asian supplier base Desirable · Master’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management · Professional procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) · Experience in working with Medical Device regulations Other Attributes · Entrepreneurial spirit · Self-starter with “can-do” mentality · Strong analytical and commercial acumen · Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills · Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities · Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced global environment · Willingness to travel internationally when required
