The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.
Candidates will be assessed on the basis of appropriate relevant experience and qualifications and salary placed within the advertised scale.

Days and hours of work:
Working 2 and a half days per week, between Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00.
Days of working are negotiable, flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible.

East Lothian Children’s Services has an exciting opportunity for a part time social worker/SCIM interviewer to join the dynamic Child Protection Team. The team consists of a team leader, three senior practitioner, one social worker/SCIM interviewer and a part time SCIM interviewer.
All of Children’s Services is located in an open plan office with onsite parking and we promote an open, trusting and communicative culture at all levels of the organisation.
Applicants should have a sound value base, excellent communication and report writing skills and a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Child Protection processes, as well as, a knowledge about Children and Families social work legislation, role and responsibilities.
Candidates should work well under pressure and be able to manage competing demands of a Child Protection case load. We are particularly keen to receive applicants from Social Workers with knowledge or experience in Signs of Safety and Safe and Together.
