Role Purpose: The primary purpose of the role is to provide day-to-day leadership and management to the Regional build team and associated works within a defined footprint. The role will enhance Wildanet’s trading position and reputation through effectively managing all activities associated with building and deploying FTTP networks within designated areas ensuring health & safety adherence, quality, reporting and performance to plan, and compliance to current legislation and/or contractual requirements. The role holder will cultivate a ‘safety first’ high performance team culture so that our people work safely and flourish to deliver the best possible business and customer outcomes. Ultimately, this role will have a direct impact on the quality of our network build and our customer experience. Main Responsibilities: The role holder will be responsible for leading delivery of our fibre network build across their designated region. Providing leadership, the role holder will lead their respective team to deliver the plan and objectives set out per area. This will require the role holder to be responsible for establishing and managing strategic partnerships, setting direction and developing opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness and service through empowering and inspiring their operational field engineering team members. It is also expected that you will be responsible for the capture and delivery of critical business reporting, ensuring tracking to targets, identifying and managing risks (escalating as necessary) taking an evidence based approach and ensure the integrity of build data within the appropriate operating system. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and customers is vital for optimal delivery and the future growth of this key workstream. Key Activities: While duties and responsibilities will vary, they typically include: Managing activities associated with building & deploying FTTP networks in the Region (either with Wildanet resource or external contractors) Working closely with all stakeholders to deliver compliance that meets Openreach and Local Authorities requirements Monitoring the delivery and performance of work orders in line with contract SLA’s and Wildanet quality standards (NEC3, CEMAR) Ensuring productivity is maintained to a high level Attending regular meetings with stakeholders & company representatives Onsite Coaching of teams to ensure compliance Dealing with day-to-day issues and problem solving on all activities Developing a high-performance centric culture, with commercial focus in delivering business targets Ensuring that sufficient team capacity exists to underpin customer commitments and stakeholder requirements, including succession planning for key roles within the team Creating a safe working environment with a zero-harm culture, ensuring teams are trained as appropriate and sufficient governance in place to ensure all health and safety checks are completed within required timescale and quality Leading, empowering, engaging, and motivating your people to be the best that they can be. Essential Person Specification Knowledge: Understanding of the New Roads & Streetworks Act 1991(NRSWA) Experience and working knowledge of CDM Regulations Excellent technical understanding of telecoms fibre optic networks Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel Good knowledge and experience of the Microsoft Office 365 suite Skills/Attributes: Commercially aware with performance leadership techniques that deliver sustainable growth and addressing behavioural and compliance issues following our process and procedure Excellent presentation skills and ability to present to senior management, clients and stakeholders Results driven with a focus on operational rigour and integrity Conflict Resolution skills Self-Motivated Eye for Detail Excellent time management; with experience in managing multiple tasks to time-critical deadlines Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and on multiple workstreams Good interpersonal and influencing skills. Experience: At least 4 years’ experience in an infrastructure sector e.g., construction, telecoms At least 3 years’ experience in similar area management role and line management responsibility Working knowledge of NEC3 and CEMAR Demonstrable experience successfully managing significant projects / programmes Leading and providing health and safety agenda, providing guidance including but not limited to CDM Qualifications: IOSH Managing Safety SMSTS (desirable) Street Works Qualification – Supervisor Module LA and S1 (desirable) Circumstances: Liskeard office and on site working throughout the Southwest, this role will require the individual to work to deadlines and there will be periods of intense pressure.
