Overview
Student Recruitment Co‑ordinator – Newcastle University (UK Recruitment Team). This full‑time role (37 hours) involves travelling across the UK to deliver events, presentations and workshops to prospective students, parents/carers and teachers. The position supports the Newcastle University PARTNERS programme, residential summer schools, and other wide‑reach activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver on‑campus and virtual events for prospective students, managing logistics, budgets and evaluation reports.
* Act as lead presenter for large audiences and coordinate teams of Student Ambassadors and other staff to ensure quality delivery.
* Support the Student Recruitment Manager in developing and delivering the PARTNERS programme, including organising the Year 13 residential PARTNERS Academic Summer School.
* Manage line‑management duties where required: oversee workload, conduct performance reviews, and supervise team meetings.
* Contribute to the planning and delivery of national recruitment events, such as Open Days and Higher Education conventions.
* Produce marketing and publicity materials (print, web and new media) to promote Newcastle University to target audiences.
* Collaborate with the Access and Participation Plan team on projects such as Westgate Hill and Insight 2Uni mentoring.
Essential Qualifications
* Proven experience in event planning, organization and delivery to diverse audiences.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to manage complex workloads, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Flexible, adaptable problem‑solver with a positive approach.
* Team‑working skills and ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders.
* Good IT skills and finance management ability.
* Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK, including overnight stays.
* Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
* Suitable for gain Enhanced Disclosure checks via DBS.
* Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
* Web authoring and print production skills.
* Awareness of the UCAS application system and the recruitment and admission cycle.
* Knowledge of challenges faced by widening participation cohorts.
