Job Description Summary
We are hiring for a Spares Fulfilment Specialist to join our Dowty team onsite at our Brockworth location on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role involves controlling the flow of materials and parts to fulfill customer demand accurately and timely. Responsibilities include overseeing inventory levels, ensuring material availability, processing spares orders, coordinating with supply chain functions, and monitoring order progress to ensure on-time delivery and minimize delinquency.
You will be the primary supply chain contact for customer-facing teams, collaborating with program focal points to improve spares planning and execution. You will also work with all aspects of supply chain and customer teams to meet service level requirements, ensuring timely delivery.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate spares order fulfillment, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to customers, MRO activities, and production lines.
2. Oversee inventory levels, part availability, and material requisitions across relevant sub-inventory organizations.
3. Manage the process from material receipt to dispatch, reviewing and processing spares orders to meet demand.
4. Coordinate with sourcing, inspection, and logistics teams to expedite materials supply using established processes.
5. Track and update the progress of customer orders, providing accurate delivery predictions and monitoring purchase and manufactured parts.
6. Contribute to monthly sales order delivery projections.
7. Provide updates on order status and delivery timelines to internal and customer-facing teams, communicating delays proactively.
8. Monitor and analyze On-Time-Delivery and Delinquency metrics, identifying trends and engaging in problem-solving.
9. Establish and monitor standard operating rhythms for spares planning and fulfillment, documenting processes and KPIs.
10. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
11. Become a super user of our ERP system, training and mentoring team members.
12. Lead and develop interns, providing training, mentoring, and performance feedback.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Experience in supply chain manufacturing processes.
* Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital tools like Spotfire & Oracle.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Leadership ability and managing competing priorities.
* Problem-solving mindset adaptable to a dynamic environment.
Desired Characteristics:
* Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite.
* Proficiency in VBA & SQL programming.
* Willingness to drive process improvements using Flightdeck/Lean methods.
