Power Plant OperatorA leading organisation within the renewable energy sector is seeking a Power Plant Operator to support the commissioning and operation of a new geothermal power facility. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pioneering clean-energy project at a critical stage of development. About the RoleAs the plant moves towards full-scale generation, your technical experience in power generation or similar industrial environments will be essential. We are looking for a dependable operator with strong mechanical or electrical knowledge and a genuine interest in sustainable energy. Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations & MonitoringSafely and efficiently manage start-up and shutdown of key equipment, including generators and auxiliary systems.Operate all plant systems in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.Monitor and maintain auxiliary systems such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, filters, and power systems.Make real-time operational adjustments to maintain safe and efficient performance.Maintenance & TroubleshootingDeliver first-line mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis.Work in accordance with isolation procedures and permit-to-work systems.Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance.Safety & ComplianceAdhere to all safety procedures and regulatory requirements.Maintain complete and accurate documentation of procedures, maintenance, and incidents.Communication & ReportingCommunicate effectively with the wider operations team and report any issues promptly.Maintain accurate logs, forms, and operational records.Act calmly and professionally in all operational situations. RequirementsEssentialApprentice-trained or qualified to ONC/HNC level in electrical, mechanical, process engineering or a related field.Experience working in a power station or comparable industrial environment.Strong understanding of safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.Proficient in Microsoft Office and accurate record keeping.Able to work both independently and within a team.Right to work in the UK.DesirableAt least one year of experience within electricity generation or similar settings.Interest in renewable energy and low-carbon technologies.Willingness to work in challenging conditions
