Role Overview
* Job Title: UK Applications Support Specialist
* Contract Duration: 9 Months
* Start Date: May 2026
* Location: Field-based role with occasional visits to Burgess Hill
* Work Arrangement: Candidate must be based within the South UK (outside London and south of the M4) or willing to relocate
* Eligibility: Full UK Right to Work required (no sponsorship available)
Role Summary
This is a field-based technical role within a Systems Support department, focused on providing application and technical support for diagnostic instruments and laboratory systems. The position involves customer interaction, troubleshooting, installations, training, and supporting commercial activities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
* Handle internal and external technical enquiries remotely and on-site
* Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
* Identify recurring issues and support escalation processes
* Manage complaint handling in collaboration with internal teams
* Support installation and configuration of diagnostic instruments
* Assist with commissioning systems into routine laboratory use
* Provide on-site support during verification and go-live phases
Training & Knowledge Transfer
* Deliver internal and external training on systems and applications
* Maintain accurate training records
* Build strong customer relationships and ensure high service standards
* Provide clear, timely, and professional communication
* Adapt to changing customer needs and work patterns
Commercial Support
* Support sales teams with technical expertise during customer meetings
* Assist with product demonstrations and tender responses
* Contribute knowledge of products and laboratory workflows
Technical Knowledge & Compliance
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supported systems and products
* Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and proceduresAdhere to internal policies on data security, CRM usage, and administration
Qualifications
* Degree in a relevant biomedical or life sciences discipline
Experience
* Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
* Experience working independently in a field-based role
* Customer-facing experience (remote and on-site support)
* Experience supporting installations, commissioning, or go-live activities
* Strong communication and time management skills
* IT literacy and ability to manage workload effectively
* Willingness to travel regularly
* Valid driving licence and passport
* Experience in hospital, pathology, or research laboratory environments
* Background in diagnostics or medical devices industry
* Experience with CRM systems or digital tools
* Experience delivering technical training
* Knowledge of complaint handling processes in regulated environments
* Experience working in multicultural teams
