Job Description
Our client is an early growth, VC backed healthtech company based in central London.
Since inception the business has outsourced its bookeeping and accounting but as it scales, it plans to bring its finance function in-house and is looking for a driven and strategic Finance Manager to lead this transformation who is contant to be in-office based.
This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on building systems from the ground up. The job holder will take day to day ownership of the finance function, transitioning financial management from the company's external provider and laying the foundation for robust, scalable, and compliant internal processes. The job holder will work directly with leadership, helping to shape financial strategy and to ensure the business has the insight and infrastructure to grow sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the transition of finance operations from an outsourced provider to an internal function.
* Design and implement internal finance processes, policies, and systems (including bookkeeping, reporting, payroll, and budgeting).
* Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and forecasting.
* Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decisions.
* Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and liaise with banks and auditors.
* Recruit and develop a small in-house finance team over time (as needed).
* Collaborate closely with other departments to improve financial literacy and budget management across the business.
Candidate profile
* Proven experience as a financial manager in an SME business
* Experience of building or significantly developing an in-house finance function.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency with financial systems.
* Comfortable working hands-on and strategicly in a scaling business.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
* Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
