Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied criminal defence caseload
* Attend police stations, providing legal advice and representation
* Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including bail applications, case management hearings, and trials
* Prepare cases, liaise with clients, and undertake criminal litigation tasks
* Qualified Solicitors: Participate in the Duty Solicitor Rota
Essential Skills & Experience
* Qualified Solicitor or Trainee Solicitor close to qualification
* Experience or strong exposure to criminal law, police station work, or court advocacy
* Confidence in communication, client care, and case preparation
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong commitment to providing high-quality legal services
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Duty Solicitor accreditation (full support available for those seeking accreditation)
