Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our team and oversee all aspects of our club operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing sport and build something special from the ground up in Worcester.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
2. Oversee daily operations across all club facilities (courts, cafe, retail, equipment hire)
3. Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service standards
4. Manage court bookings, scheduling and facility maintenance coordination
5. Maintain health and safety protocols
6. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally
7. Team Leadership
8. Recruit, train and manage the team
9. Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during all operating hours
10. Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews and training sessions
11. Foster a positive, customer-focused team culture
12. Manage payroll, holiday requests and HR administration
13. Business Development
14. Drive membership sales and retention strategies
15. Develop and implement marketing initiatives
16. Build relationships with local sports clubs, schools and corporate clients
17. Organise tournaments, social events and coaching programs
18. Monitor competitor activity and market trends
19. Facility Management
20. Ensure courts and facilities are maintained to the highest standards
21. Oversee cafe operations including stock management and food safety compliance
22. Manage retail inventory and supplier relationships
Essential Requirements
* Prior management experience in sports, leisure or hospitality industry
* Proven track record of team leadership and staff development
* Strong customer service background
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Desirable Requirements
* Experience in racquet sports facilities or sports club management
* Knowledge of padel or other racquet sports
* First aid certification
* Marketing and social media management experience
* Coaching qualifications (any sport)
