Assistant Finance Business Partner Salary: £32,000 per annum Role Overview Our client is seeking an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join their high-performing finance team and play a key role in delivering excellent financial management and supporting business growth. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting Support the financial management of multiple business areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all reporting. Prepare and review trial balance reports, management accounts, reconciliations, journals, and VAT returns. Ensure compliance with internal policies, client deadlines, and relevant accounting standards. Provide financial analysis, variance explanations, and insight to support decision-making. Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline financial processes. Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support financial understanding and accountability. Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to provide financial guidance and reporting support. Communicate effectively with colleagues across finance, treasury, and operations to ensure data integrity and process consistency. Team Support & Development Assist senior finance team members with the oversight and allocation of workload within the department. Support and mentor junior colleagues, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development. Contribute to the continuous improvement of team efficiency and best practice processes. Risk Management & Compliance Maintain high standards of financial control through reconciliations, audit support, and compliance with internal and external regulations. Monitor key performance indicators and highlight potential risks or discrepancies proactively. Support internal and external audit requirements with accuracy and professionalism. Essential Requirements Qualifications & Experience AAT Level 4 (or equivalent) with 3 years of accounting experience, or qualified by experience (4 years in accounting). Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and VAT principles. Previous experience supporting financial reporting or business partnering functions. Technical Skills Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and complex formulas. Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams). Confidence using and adapting to various accounting or ERP systems. Core Competencies Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
