Plant PLC Engineer - Peterborough
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and exceptional Plant PLC Engineer based in Peterborough.
You will report to the Production Supervisor and work with the Plant Operations team.
The position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of control systems within water-based units and plant equipment.
Secondary responsibilities include leading commissioning and final testing of newly built mobile water assets.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Driving and following EHS standards and culture within the Peterborough facility.
* Ensuring adherence to Quality standards at all times.
* Modifying PLCs and fault finding in the regeneration plant, sites, and control systems for mobile water treatment equipment.
* Fault finding in control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS) through preventative and reactive maintenance.
* Commissioning new and refurbished equipment.
* Collaborating with Assembly, Engineering, and Plant Management to identify and resolve design issues.
* Following MOC procedures and documenting changes.
* Improving electrical consumption and efficiency to achieve cost savings.
* Providing electrical and PLC support to the Plant and Assembly Teams.
* Maintaining electrical control systems in containers, trailers, and skids.
* Performing CE upgrades as required.
* Assisting in plant modification and improvement projects.
* Keeping accurate maintenance records.
* Upholding work rules and processes.
* Participating in training and team meetings, suggesting improvements.
* Supervising and directing on-site contractors when needed.
* Occasionally traveling to customer sites.
Requirements:
* Experience in industrial electrical work.
* Background in industrial, assembly, or operational roles.
* Strong EHS and Quality awareness.
* Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software.
* 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* NVQ Level 3 in electrical units.
* City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent.
* Training or experience in drawing software.
* Project management experience.
* Passport to Safety or equivalent.
* Experience in the water treatment industry is a plus.
The role offers a competitive salary between £38,000 and £45,000 depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including pension, private healthcare, dental plan, life assurance, gym membership, overtime, call-out bonuses, and share purchase options.
