Job Summary

The Forest Centre is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Spinney ward requires a staff member who demonstrates leadership behaviours and a genuine interest in caring for older adults with mental health needs such as anxiety and depression.
As a 24‑hour service the successful candidate will work shifts including weekends, nights and bank holidays. There is a strong emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach to care; team working and effective communication are essential. Staff will engage in activities that promote well‑being and support a person‑centred, co‑produced approach.
The role requires reliability, resilience and the ability to undertake low‑level interventions and Breakaway training.
Main duties
* Responsible for all aspects of nursing care and ensuring evidence‑based quality care.
* Act as Keyworker for identified service users on the ward, underpinning care delivery through the nursing process.
* Support senior nursing staff in day‑to‑day ward management and plan own professional development under supervision.
* Develop, implement and evaluate individualised care programmes and assess service users’ needs, risks and strengths.
* Ensure comprehensive assessment including child protection and vulnerable adult factors.
* Design and deliver Care Programmes aligned with assessed needs, risks and strengths.

* Previous experience working as Band 5 RMN
* Previous experience supervising student nurses and/or apprentices
