Job Title: Quality & Compliance Officer Location: Alton Salary: £50,000 Contract: Full Time Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality & Compliance Officer to support and maintain the company's quality, regulatory, and compliance standards across the UK operation. This role will primarily focus on quality assurance, supplier compliance, audit coordination, and regulatory processes, while also offering the opportunity to develop knowledge and experience within export compliance and international trade regulations. This position would suit someone with a strong compliance or quality background who is keen to broaden their expertise into export controls and trade compliance over time. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, suppliers, auditors, and internal teams to ensure high standards are maintained across all areas of the business. Key Responsibilities Quality & Regulatory Compliance Act as the main point of contact for customer quality-related matters, approvals, and compliance queries. Support the business on quality procedures, compliance standards, and process improvements. Manage and oversee the returns (RMA) process, ensuring accurate tracking and resolution workflows. Coordinate quarterly supplier review meetings and maintain supplier performance records. Liaise with external auditors, supporting audits, site visits, and follow-up actions. Maintain approved supplier records and manage supplier certification documentation. Ensure customer approvals, quality directives, and compliance standards are kept up to date. Maintain FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) documentation and related quality records. Support reject management processes, including REACH, WEEE, and conflict minerals compliance. Maintain the Tool & Equipment Register, including calibration records where required. Investigate and respond to customer quality concerns and non-conformance issues. Compliance & Export Development Support export compliance activities in line with UK regulations and internal procedures. Learn and develop knowledge of export control legislation, commodity codes, and trade compliance requirements. Assist with customer and supplier compliance documentation, including end-use certificates and licence records. Support compliance reviews on international shipments and transactions. Work alongside senior stakeholders to gain exposure to Incoterms, customs procedures, and export processes. Liaise with external bodies such as HMRC and relevant trade authorities where required. Assist in maintaining accurate compliance records and documentation. Additional Responsibilities Support sanctions screening and compliance procedures. Assist with customer and supplier audits from a compliance perspective. Provide general compliance support across operational and commercial teams. Shadow shipping and logistics activities, including coordination with freight forwarders and couriers, to build wider operational understanding. Key Skills & Experience Previous experience within a quality, compliance, regulatory, or administrative role. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Experience supporting audits, supplier compliance, or quality systems would be advantageous. Interest in developing a career within export compliance and international trade. Ability to interpret procedures and apply them in a practical business environment. Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Proficient administrative and record-keeping skills.
