Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 female Personal Assistants to provide support to a lady who is a wheelchair user with daily living tasks and to access the local community. No lifting will be required for this person. There are two positions available for support: one in the morning and one in the evening.
Responsibilities
* Morning support: help getting up and dressed, be present when in the shower, possible meal preparation and light domestic tasks (e.g., light cleaning). Support with paperwork and ordering online when required. No toileting needs required.
* Outings: additional hours available for outings, including getting in and out of a specialised wheelchair accessible hatchback car, going shopping and local outings, as agreed with the applicant.
* Evening support: getting ready for bed and light cleaning tasks.
Hours and scheduling
* Morning: 8:30 to 10:00 am, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the possibility of more hours on certain days by agreement.
* Evening: 8:30 pm to 9:00 or 9:30 pm, on agreement of the applicant, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Requirements and preferences
* We are looking for people who are cheerful with a sense of humour, common sense, the ability to problem solve and take initiative to complete tasks as needed.
* Previous experience is not required as training will be provided; however a positive attitude and good work ethic is essential.
* Basic computer and internet skills would be helpful for the morning position. A car driver is preferred; if the applicant is a driver, a full clean licence is required.
Compensation and benefits
* Hourly rate of £15 plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave and a workplace pension scheme available.
