Chief Registrar in Emergency Medicine
The chief registrar will have a designated educational supervisor for their role, who may or may not be the same as their clinical supervisor.
There will be formal educational oversight, including an induction, educational agreement, personal development plan, and regular appraisals.
All candidates must hold a national training number, which is an essential requirement.
The role may be undertaken in or out of programme (training or experience), depending on local workforce needs and individual training preferences. Any necessary extension to the certificate of completion of training (CCT) date will be negotiated locally, involving the head of school where appropriate. Approval from the relevant specialist advisory committee is required for OOPT requests.
Trainees must discuss applications with their education supervisor and TPD before applying. Permission from the TPD is required to apply.
The minimum duration for this post is 12 months.
The role involves 40% protected time and 60% clinical practice, which is an essential requirement.
