As a Water Technician you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and monitoring of water
treatments for our customers. This role ensure that water is safe and meets regulatory standards.
The position will support the key functions of the business by providing services as and when required.
Carry out tasks allocated to you in accordance with all method statements and the fundamental rules of
Marlowe Environmental Services.
Key Objectives & Responsibilities
• Complete allocated jobs within the agreed timescales.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and submit on the electronic system in live time.
• Must not exceed one audit failure per year.
Person Specification
• To normally act as the lead technician or ‘responsible person' when working in a team of two or
more technicians ESTs.
• To ensure all work is completed in compliance with current legislation and documented at all times.
• Tasks to be carried out in accordance Marlowe Environmental Services procedures/method
statements.
• Maintain and promote Health and Safety standards within your team, to sub- contractors, and to
clients to company standards and procedures.
• Plan to ensure work as scheduled is completed on time, and to maximum efficiency.
• Liaise with client representatives as required.
• Report any pertinent issues to your field manager or client representative as appropriate.
• At all times adhere to the clients specific Health and Safety/Safe Working practices.
• Ensure all equipment used is safe and fit for purpose
• Have skills in line with levels 1 & 2 as well as either
o Technical service (closed heating and chilled system testing, cooling tower weekly/monthly
checks and water treatment of boilers)
o Plumbing & water treatment remedial skills
o Acid descaling of boilers, towers and condensers.
o To be able to carry out multiple tasks in a range of works disciplines and take responsibility for
identifying personal training needs and bringing these to the attention of your Line Manager.
o To train less experienced technicians/engineers.
o To occasionally work in any other role which is considered to be reasonably within capabilities.
o Ability to interpret results, reports and make recommendations
Depending on the entity you work for you may also be required to do the following: • Secondary disinfection testing, plant inspections and servicing • Silver Copper analysis and service visit • Conduct BSRIA Chemistry and BSRIA Micro sampling • Closed system analysis, top ups and dosing via various methods • Plumbing & water treatment remedial skills
