Job Purpose
The HR Graduate will support both the operational and strategic activities of the Human Resources function. The role combines administrative HR support with involvement in people initiatives and continuous improvement activity that supports efficient, effective, and compliant HR service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Administrative Support
* Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team
* Respond to routine HR queries from employees and managers, escalating complex issues as appropriate
* Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems, and personnel files in line with data protection requirements
* Support absence management processes, including recording absences, monitoring trends, and preparing reports
* Draft HR correspondence and documentation, including contracts, offer letters, absence letters, and standard employee communications
* Support onboarding and induction processes to ensure a positive employee experience
* Support performance management, talent development, and succession planning processes
Strategic, Reporting & Process Improvement Support
* Support the delivery of HR initiatives aligned with business and people strategy
* Assist in preparing HR data, reports, and insights to support workforce planning and decision-making
* Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and action planning
* Support the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and guidance
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process improvements, documentation, templates and guidance materials, to enhance efficiency and employee experience
Qualifications
Skills and Competencies
* Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Effective written communication skills, particularly in drafting professional correspondence and documentation
* Analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in process improvement
* Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline
* CIPD Level 3 or working towards a CIPD qualification (desirable)
* Previous administrative, placement, or internship experience is beneficial but not essential
