Position Summary
Consultant in Acute Medicine at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, NHS Grampian. This role is part of a forward‑thinking department actively redesigning services to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care, with opportunities to contribute to innovative services such as Hospital at Home and Flow Navigation.
Key Responsibilities
* Play a key role in the Acute Medical Initial Assessment Area (AMIA), Rapid Access Ambulatory Care (RAAC) and the Medical Short Stay Unit (SSMU).
* Deliver a 10 Programme Activities per week schedule, with approximately 1 in 8 on‑call commitment.
Qualifications and Eligibility
* Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC (must be in place prior to starting in post).
* UK‑trained doctors with evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT, or within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* CESR or Portfolio Pathway route doctors eligible only after specialist registration is awarded.
* Doctors with an International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC must have a confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* Locum Consultant candidates with appropriate specialist training and experience not on the GMC Register may be considered for up to 12 months pending a substantive appointment.
