Overview
This Junior Clinical Fellow Doctor position offers the successful applicant an opportunity to gain new skills or consolidate existing knowledge, with valuable clinical exposure in your chosen specialty. It is a Locally Employed Doctor post which is not recognised for formal training.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern
* 40 hours per week, full shift pattern.
* Includes cross‑cover with other teams during night shifts, giving experience in the acute care of patients.
* All rota patterns comply with the New Junior Doctor Contract 2016 and meet EWTD targets.
* Periodic changes to working hours are expected as rota patterns alter.
Responsibilities
* Attend ward rounds.
* Assist in theatre to advance surgical skills.
* Day and night first on call.
* Participate in acute on call cover alongside F2/Core Training doctors and Registrars.
* Complete a paid, 1‑week structured induction within the department.
* Work with a designated educational and clinical supervisor throughout the placement.
* Document clinical and extracurricular activities using a personalised ‘Horus’ portfolio.
* Utilise a £500 study leave budget, pro‑rata if working less than full time.
Salary & Benefits
* Basic salary based on a 40 hour working week (value provided upon request).
* Enhancements for additional rostered hours (over 40), night rate hours and weekend working allowance as per Junior Doctor Contract 2016 pay scales.

Qualifications and Requirements
* Full registration with the GMC at the time of applying.
* Enhanced DBS check (barred lists), cost payable by the successful candidate.
* Overseas police clearance if lived or worked abroad for six months or more in the last five years.
* F2 level and previous experience appropriate for the role.
