Performance Lifestyle Practitioner - Diving GB & GB Badminton (Maternity Cover)
The Opportunity
The UK Sports Institute, Diving GB and GB Badminton have an exciting opportunity for a Part time Performance Lifestyle Practitioner to cover a period of maternity leave.
0.6 FTE (3 days per week) Broken down into: 0.4fte/2 days per week with Diving GB and 0.2fte/1 day per week with GB Badminton
LOCATION Diving GB - London and Sheffield, with travel required between the 2 sites essential GB Badminton – National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes, weekly in person delivery
Admin base will be the nearest UKSI site to home address

A snapshot of the role
We’re looking for a Performance Lifestyle Practitioner to deliver and developcutting-edgelifestyle support for elite athletes competing on the world stage in Diving GB and GB Badminton. This is your chance to be part of an inter-disciplinary performance support team working towards the strategic goals of two of Britain’s most exciting sports.
Diving GB
* Travel to both London and Sheffieldat least twice a monthto work closely with athletes at their training sites.
* Be part of the wider Aquatics GB PL team, contributing to a cross-sport strategy that supports Britain’s aquatic talent.
GB Badminton
* Deliver direct support to GB Badminton’s world-class funded athletes at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes.
Be on-site during training blocks and enjoy the flexibility of remote working when athletes are away competing
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and deliver strategic PL objectives for Aquatics GB (within the context of Diving GB) and for GB Badminton in alignment with the UKSI Performance Lifestyle Delivery Framework and Principles (see attached e-brochure) drawing upon existing experience and interpreting available evidence, data, and insights to inform priorities
* To work closely and in collaboration with the cross Aquatics PL practitioners, PL Technical Leads and other relevant members of staff from both sports in the development of the Performance Lifestyle strategy and ongoing delivery
* As part of a cross Aquatics PL group and as PL for GB Badminton, as appropriate, support/lead specific PL project work to meet emergning challenges and areas of priority. For example: athlete transition strategy (on to, through and beyond the programme), PL screening etc.
* As appropriate, liaise and communicate with parents, coaches, schools/colleges and internal/external colleagues and stakeholders to facilitate world class holistic support and development for athletes
* Deliver one-to-one and group-based athlete support, as appropriate, aligned to the UKSI Performance Lifestyle Delivery Framework and Principles,
* In both sports, collaborate as part of internal psycho-social teams to facilitate mental health and well-being support to athletes, whilst also proactively accessing wider system support in this space, as appropriate .
* Provide proactive transition support to athletes upon leaving the programme and for a period of 6months, ensuring all work and contact is recorded on PDMS in line with PL guidance.
* Fully engage with and uphold all professional standards associated with UKSI PL Safe2Practice i.e. note keeping, confidentiality, training etc
In this role, you’ll lead on the holistic support and development of world-class athletes across the entire Performance Lifestyle framework – empowering them to thrive in training, competition, and beyond.
Qualifications
Degree level or equivalent in Sports Management, Sport Science/Studies or a discipline relevant to the support and development of high performing individuals. Or significant experience of elite sporting systems and environments from an athlete or coaching perspective.
Experience
Experience of supporting athletes or other high performing individuals and a track record of success in facilitating positive solutions which impact upon well-being and performance
Experience of designing, developing, delivering and evaluating holistic support interventions across the areas identified in the PL Delivery Framework
