Job overview

This role involves working as a Security and Emergency Operator, Band 2.

The West Cumberland Hospital Service Desk, Reception Services, and Security Office are vital parts of the Trust’s Facilities Department.

The post holder will support staffing the Security Office, handling security and emergency response tasks, including answering emergency/cardiac telephones, reviewing CCTV footage, and communicating via bleep and radio systems.

Effective operation of the site Service Desk and related systems, logging all service requests, and professional communication with Estates & Facilities staff are essential.

Providing front-line reception services at various hospital locations as required.


Main duties of the job

Working mainly as part of a team, the post holder may work independently at times, using initiative appropriately.

The duties are flexible and subject to review by line management to meet service needs, with responsibilities adjusted as necessary to maintain standards during transitions.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS):

The cost of DBS checks will increase from 2 December: Standard DBS (£21.50), Enhanced DBS (£49.50), with costs deducted from salary as specified.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and will require a criminal record check for certain roles, with costs borne by the applicant.
