Do you have a passion for people and care about helping others live fulfilling lives? We are looking for a caring individual who shares Quarriers' values to join our team as a Transition Mentor.
Your new opportunity
The Stopover project provides accommodation-based housing support to 14 young people aged 16-25 years. Each young person has their own bedsit, comprising a sitting room/bedroom, kitchen, and en-suite bathroom. The aim is to support young people in developing independent living skills to move on to less supported accommodation or their own tenancy.
The project operates 24 hours a day with staff working shifts including sleepovers and night shifts.
The supported young people often have adverse childhood experiences and secondary issues such as poor mental health, addictions, involvement with the criminal justice system, and enduring trauma.
Transition mentors work on a rolling 7-week rota, including early, day, late, and sleepover shifts. Nightshift workers are dedicated to the project and are not part of the mentor rota.
This is a full-time permanent role, working 39 hours per week.
