Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) to join the Liver Unit team based on the 10th Floor at St Mary's Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist consultant-led hepatology service, supporting both patients and the multidisciplinary team across multiple hospital sites.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting consultant-led liver clinics and nursing services, while also contributing to the expansion of the FibroScan service across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
1. Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision.
2. Running booked FibroScan clinics throughout the week.
3. Providing real-time FibroScanning alongside consultant clinics.
4. Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested.
5. To keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence based practice.
6. Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the speciality as advised by the senior sister or charge nurse.
7. Take responsibility for self-development through the appraisal system and work towards completing agreed personal development plan.
8. Contribute to the delivery of the Trusts Nursing Strategy .
9. Conduct oneself in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and Trust policies.
