About Us
At Orange Grove, we believe that strong relationships are the foundation of successful fostering. Founded in 1996 by two dedicated social workers, our mission has always been to create a nurturing environment for children and foster parents alike. We invest time and resources into building meaningful connections, ensuring that every child feels safe and valued.
Our commitment extends to our foster parents, whom we support individually, tailoring our approach to meet their unique needs. We also prioritize strong partnerships with local authorities and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration for the benefit of all involved.
The Role
We are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the vital role of foster parents. In this position, you will:
* Collaborate closely with foster parents to ensure meaningful supervision of placements.
* Maintain high standards through quality assurance and training for both prospective and current foster parents.
* Travel across the North West, so a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.
This role is demanding yet rewarding, requiring excellent report-writing skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
Requirements
* Hold a Social Work England qualification in Social Work or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England.
* Experience in fostering is essential.
* Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
* Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality practice.
* Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, and participate in an Out of Hours rota for the Northwest region.
* Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
Your Responsibilities
* Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload for effective supervision.
* Conduct regular supervision sessions, enabling foster parents to comply with regulatory standards.
* Work collaboratively with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to ensure full participation in meetings and decision-making processes.
At Orange Grove Fostercare, we are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications from all qualified candidates. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and we expect all staff to share this commitment.
