Elevation Recruitment Group are supporting a well-established engineering manufacturer in looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to lead and develop their manufacturing operation, based in West Yorkshire.

You will play a key role in shaping production strategy, driving operational improvements, and leading a skilled team to deliver high-quality products safely and efficiently.
As Production Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key responsibilities of the Production Manager include:
* Leading and managing the production function, including planning, scheduling, and prioritising manufacturing activities.
* Ensuring manufacturing processes operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while maintaining high quality standards.
* Championing health and safety initiatives and ensuring best practice is embedded across the shop floor.
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementing lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
* Supporting the introduction of new products into manufacture, working closely with R&D to ensure smooth and efficient implementation.
* Managing production KPIs, analysing performance data, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Investigating manufacturing issues using root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Coaching, developing, and supporting team leaders to build a high-performing production team.
* Collaborating with other departments to ensure production output aligns with business demand and customer expectations.
* Supporting capital investment projects and automation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and capability.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Production Manager who can bring strong leadership and operational expertise to the role, along with the following skills & experience:
* Proven experience in a Production Leadership role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
* Experience in assembly processes would be an advantage
* A strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
* Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, including supervisors and team leaders
* IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
* Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* The ability to drive change, improve processes, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
