Job overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our front of house therapy team. The post holder will be employed as a Senior Physiotherapist working collaboratively with an integrated therapy team across the emergency department and acute medical/front of house wards at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will require significant experience as a band 5 physiotherapist within the NHS, including working on acute wards and discharge planning. Successful candidates will need to be able to work autonomously and as part of a wider MDT possessing excellent communication skills, alongside the ability to work effectively under pressure within a busy Emergency Department. It is expected that the candidate will have excellent time management skills and easily adapt to the different working areas within Front of House to support the discharge process and patient flow within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to have experience in working as a Physiotherapist.

You will be required to undertake highly skilled work to deliver an efficient and effective service to the emergency department and front of house wards.

The front of house therapy team are well established large, progressive and dynamic services, which continue to develop within the Trust. The team is friendly and supportive and mentorship for this role will be available from senior clinicians and the AHP Service Leads.

We have an established and comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops, clinical supervision and the appraisal process. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research and the Hospital has close links with both the University of Teesside and Durham University

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria

1. BSc/MSc or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
2. HCPC registration.

Experience

Essential criteria

3. Experience at band 5 level including work as a rotational Physiotherapy in a variety of specialties, including respiratory care
4. Evidence of relevant post graduate courses
5. Experience working as an autonomous practitioner at a band 5 level within the NHS

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria

6. Basic IT skills
7. Demonstrates analytical skills and judgement when dealing with the Occupational Therapy management of complex clients
8. To display effective communication skills, communicating complex, sensitive and contentious information to patients, carers and colleagues
9. Theoretical knowledge and applied clinical practice in specialist area
10. Demonstrates detailed clinical reasoning skills
11. Good understanding of the structure, policies, priorities and format of the NHS
12. Knowledge of relevant national guidelines and standards
