Ridgeway & Co are partnering with a Tier 1 Main Contractor to recruit an Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery team on a landmark mixed-use development in Cambridge. This is a permanent role on a flagship project valued at over £150m, offering the opportunity to develop your site management career on one of the region’s most prestigious schemes.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the Site Manager in day-to-day site operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery
*
Assist in supervising subcontractors, trades, and workforce to maintain programme and quality standards
*
Help manage site logistics, health & safety compliance, and quality assurance processes
*
Contribute to progress reporting, risk updates, and issue escalation to the Site Manager
*
Attend and support site meetings with subcontractors and contribute to client progress updates
*
Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and company procedures
*
Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a professional site culture
Requirements:
*
Experience in a site management or assistant site management role with a main contractor
*
Familiarity with medium to large-scale projects, ideally £50m+
*
Knowledge of construction processes, site safety, and quality control best practices
*
Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
*
Valid CSCS, SMSTS (or willingness to obtain), and First Aid certifications
