YTL Construction UK is seeking a talented Design Coordination Engineer to join our Project Delivery team. You'll play a key role in managing the design process, acting as the vital link between consultants, contractors, and operational teams.
This role is central to the successful delivery of our AMP8 WINEP (Water Industry National Environment Programme) capital programme.
What you'll do
You'll coordinate multi-disciplinary design efforts for complex wastewater treatment plant upgrades, ensuring technical compliance with evolving environmental regulations and helping to deliver meaningful improvements to our rivers and waterways.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers and engineering graduates looking to grow into roles within design, project management, or construction at YTL Construction UK.
The post will include working from offices across the region, and site visits, as well as flexible working arrangements.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
* developing and managing design briefs, fee proposals, and programmes
* coordinating surveys and gathering client data to define project scope
* coordinating input from multiple design disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, process)
* attending reviews, workshops and progress meetings, and preparing documentation to assist the project manager and delivery teams
* reviewing design proposals for buildability, commissioning, and compliance
* ensuring all designs comply with relevant UK Water Industry standards & regulations (e.g., WIMES), British Standards, and client-specific design standards
* overseeing document control to meet project and regulatory standards
* identifying and managing design actions, requests & risks (design risk register, RFI's, HAZOP participation)
* working as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time.
What you'll need
* Degree or equivalent in engineering.
* Understanding of civil, mechanical, and electrical design interfaces involved in project delivery.
* Experience in the water industry or knowledge of sewage treatment processes is beneficial.
* Confident communicator with both internal colleagues and external contractors.
* IT literate and comfortable with report writing.
* Strong technical foundation with a desire to grow.
* Full UK driving license.
