Contract

Full‑time, 5 days / 37.5 hours per week.


Salary

£40,000 – £55,000 or €40,000 – €55,000 depending on experience plus performance bonus scheme.


Introduction

Artelier is a leading international Art Consultancy based in the UK and Spain, working on iconic projects in public art, exhibitions, private residential, yachts/aviation, corporate and hotels.


Education and Experience

Essential criteria:

* At least ten years’ professional experience in researching, curating, designing, and managing FF&E and art for international commercial, hospitality and private projects.
* Minimum university degree in project management, architecture, interiors/design, or an art‑related subject.

Highly desirable criteria:

* Track record of delivering large‑scale and complex international design projects and programmes.
* Experience managing budgets over £1M.
* Knowledge of international shipping, imports/exports and overseas logistics solutions.
* Team leadership and ability to inspire and manage a team of five or more.
* Experience working closely with client teams and managing project relations.
* Experience managing suppliers, preferably artists and galleries.
* Proven technical skills with project management software, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and AutoCAD.
* Portfolio of design work and curation for projects, including concept presentations, detailed design, specification and documentation, preferably with art elements.
* Passion for modern and contemporary art with a genuine desire to expand knowledge.


Key Responsibilities


Art Research and Curation

* Research artists and maintain an extensive knowledge of contemporary art, craft and design.
* Lead cutting‑edge art curation and stay ahead of art world and design developments relevant to our industries.
* Create sophisticated, well‑researched and contextually relevant art concept presentations.
* Refine concept presentations through schematic design mark‑ups on floor plans, elevations and renders.
* Prepare detailed design documents and schedules with item specifications, procurement details and supplier information.
* Liaise with suppliers to establish stock levels, commissioning details and arrange sampling.
* Attend project sites to curate pieces and sign off final presentation.


Art Commissioning

* Understand artistic processes, materials and production methods to support decision making and quality control.
* Research artists, materials and techniques to source suitable suppliers for artwork production, framing and installation.
* Review DD documents and verify artwork specifications before supply.
* Manage orders and contracts with artists, oversee commissioning process and proactively address challenges.
* Collaborate with artists to troubleshoot technical or aesthetic issues with artworks.
* Oversee artwork inspections at studio and storage facility, ensuring quality standards and escalating issues to the director when necessary.


Project Management and Delivery

* Manage project timelines, track progress of artwork orders and provide regular reports to the director.
* Liaise with clients to provide updates on schedules, sampling, artwork progress and completion.
* Supervise and support project assistants and art technicians to ensure project goals are achieved.
* Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring delivery within budget, including ordering, tracking payments and presenting financial summary reports.
* Track client payments and liaise with the director to ensure cash flow.
* Liaise with shipping partners to arrange large complex international shipments, obtain quotes, collate invoices and prepare export documentation.
* Cooperate with clients during delivery to ensure smooth logistics.
* Maintain relationships with trusted logistics and shipping partners.
* Oversee installation of international projects, coordinate installation teams and ensure on‑site delivery.


General

In addition to core duties, responsibilities may include day‑to‑day administrative tasks. The role requires a conscientious, highly professional, client‑facing individual who works well in a team and is personable. Travel to suppliers, clients and project locations is expected.


Location

The role can be remote, but office‑based work in Bristol, UK or Málaga, Spain is preferred.
