About Chevron Traffic Management
Chevron Traffic Management sets up temporary road or lane closures, diversions, and pedestrian walkways to keep road workers and road users safe. This involves cones, signage, temporary traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Our work is visible across the country and involves consulting, planning, designing, estimating and liaising with suppliers and customers to ensure schemes are fit for purpose. We focus on safety, innovation and reducing carbon footprint.

Role purpose
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee fleet operations across the North East Region. The role is based full time at either Scunthorpe or Retford depot and includes full responsibility for fleet compliance, maintenance, procurement and reporting. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives and ensure operational efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness across the fleet.
Responsibilities
* Lead daily fleet operations across multiple depots
* Manage and support the Fleet Administrator, encouraging development
* Ensure compliance with MOT, tax, certifications, and company standards
* Monitor vehicle checks, service records, and maintenance schedules
* Coordinate repairs and servicing with garages and suppliers
* Oversee vehicle handovers and maintain accurate documentation
* Source vehicles and parts, negotiating contracts and pricing
* Handle external repairs, warranty claims, and accident repairs
* Respond to PCNs and traffic offences with proper documentation
* Maintain fleet database with up-to-date service and compliance records
* Administer insurance claims and liaise with insurers
* Ensure accurate accident reporting with supporting evidence
* Collaborate with senior management on fleet policies and improvements
* Produce regular performance and compliance reports
Essential attributes
* Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
* Proven experience in fleet management or a related operational role
* Experience in team leadership or line management
* Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills
* Ability to lead and motivate teams across multiple locations
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
* Self-motivated with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
* Reliable, with excellent time management and attention to detail
