Make an Impact at RSM UK
People and Pay (PAP) is the HR and payroll division, delivering cutting-edge and premium payroll and human resources software and solutions to a diverse range of clients, from small entrepreneurial enterprises to international corporations, including top-name brands across industries such as manufacturing, retail, and hospitality.
We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join us in our Chester, Grangemouth, Reading, or Brentwood offices. This role offers great job satisfaction, skill development, and career progression. You will benefit from on-the-job training from senior team members, access to internal training courses, and support to achieve the Payroll Administrator Level 3 qualification, which typically takes 12-18 months.
As a Payroll Assistant, you will work within a welcoming team, reporting to the Payroll Team Leader or Payroll Manager. You’ll quickly get involved in client work, initially supporting the team before managing your own client portfolio. With ongoing training and a supportive infrastructure, you will become a payroll expert and consultant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team with excellent hybrid working arrangements (generally 2 days in the office after 6 months). The variety of projects will challenge you daily, helping you grow professionally and discover a culture that nurtures individuality and celebrates fresh ideas!
You’ll make an impact by:
1. Assisting with accurate and timely payroll production for various clients, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and deadlines.
2. Applying changes to client payroll records, including starters, leavers, absences, salary changes, pension deductions, and other pay adjustments.
3. Processing payments and submitting reports to HMRC in line with deadlines.
4. Working towards managing your own client portfolio, processing end-to-end payroll, and building strong client relationships.
5. Assisting with client billing and month-end procedures.
What we are looking for:
We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Our ideal candidate:
* Welcomes applicants with prior work experience in another field, school-leavers, and graduates.
* Has 5 GCSEs graded 4-9 or equivalent qualifications graded A-C.
* Possesses strong numerical abilities and experience with MS Office.
* Has a passion for excellent customer service.
* Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
What we can offer you:
We recognize that our people are our most important assets. Our flexible reward and benefits package includes:
* Payroll Administrator Level 3 Study Support.
* Hybrid and flexible working (2 days per week on-site after settling in).
* 25 days holiday, with options to purchase additional days.
* Lifestyle, health, and wellbeing benefits, including financial tools, electric car scheme, and virtual GP access.
* Access to over 300 courses on demand, developed by our Talent Development team.
