Job Opportunity
This role offers an alternative career path for RGN's and qualified Paramedics with 3+ years' post-qualification experience. Custody environments are dynamic, with no two days the same. We provide high-level care to detainees, managing issues from substance dependencies to acute medical episodes, and are trained to collect forensic samples to assist police investigations.
No forensic experience necessary. Training and support will be provided to become an accredited Forensic Practitioner.
Hours of Work
The 4-on-4-off rota pattern allows for planning personal time well in advance, comprising two day shifts, two night shifts, then four days off. This is a Bank Vacancy Only.
Duties Include
* Forensic sampling, including blood samples for road traffic offences
* Referrals and signposting; supporting vulnerabilities and re-offending reduction
* Delivering substance misuse therapies
* Assessment and care of detainees and staff in custody
* Managing acute diseases
* Promoting personal healthcare
* Collaborating with Liaison and Diversion services for mental health needs
Essential Skills
* Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience
* Experience in acute medical healthcare
Experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, or as a Paramedic Practitioner is advantageous.
