Our client who are one of the UK's largest and most successful Surface & Highways Companies. The Technical Manager will be based from their office near Derby. The Technical Manager will be working on arrange of asphalt and pavement design projects within the Highways, Retail, Rail, Aviation, Commercial and Defence sectors.
The Technical Manager will oversee the management of the district and lead asphalt and pavement design.\n\nTechnical Manager Salary & Benefits\n\nSalary up to £65k depending on experience\nCompany car\nHoliday 25 days per year plus bank holiday\nPension\nEmployee Life Cover\nPerformance related bonus\nFlexible working options \n\nTechnical Manager Job Overview\n\nOverall management of the district\nLeading asphalt and pavement design\nSupport Sale, Operations and Contracting departments\nTraining of internal sales, QS and operational staff\nMeeting customers and being involved with initial stages of contract negotiations supporting the commercial team\nCost Reduction / Value engineering - Review specifications, advising on cost saving through material choice, usage, specification alterations etc\nComplaint investigation will be the first point of contact for any material/laying issues\nCarry out site audits of laying operations, including site testing\nSupport sales and operational teams with onsite and pre-start issues\nInspection & Test Plan creation and monitoring\nSpecification vetting \n\nTechnical Manager Job Requirements\n\nExperienced with asphalt technology\nExperienced in pavement design and construction\nFull driving license\nKnowledge of testing methods of asphalt and cement bound granular material\nFamiliar with SHW, BS EN, ISO 17025 and other relevant standards\nComfortable leading from the front in a customer facing role.\nExperience of dispute resolution\nStrong IT and report writing skills.
