The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting Class 1 Shunters to join EVRi Barnsley on NIGHTS
Shifts: 6pm-6am 4 on 4 off shift pattern
Location: Barnsley, s74
Job Type: Ongoing position.
Pay rates:
* Weekday nights: £18.59
* Saturday night: £21.69
* Sunday night: £22.96
The role:
· Perform non-stop shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations.
· Safely manoeuvre vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
· Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
· Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
· Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
· Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
· Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
· Assist with other yard duties as needed.
Requirements:
· Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
· 1 years' experience preferred but not essential.
· Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
· No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
· Successful completion of training.
· Full understanding of WTD legislation.
· Excellent communication skills.
· A safety-first mindset.
