Hourly Rate: £60.63 Paye or £81.90 umbrella inside IR35
37 Hours per week
Onsite Monday – Friday
Overview
BAE Systems is seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer – Risk & Assurance to join our growing team in Christchurch. This is an exciting opportunity to support critical Ministry of Defence (MoD) programmes within a long-established, high-performing team of over 45 engineers and specialists.
Responsibilities
Support projects in understanding and managing cyber security risk
Collaborate with solution architects and engineers to design secure systems and implement effective security controls
Produce high-quality technical documentation and reports
Identify risks and support assurance/accreditation activities within the UK defence domain
Provide cyber security advice to internal stakeholders and customers
Ensure compliance with frameworks such as the NIST Risk Management Framework and Cyber Security Framework
Participate in or plan CHECK/penetration testing activities
Stay current with evolving cyber security threats, trends, and technologies
Occasionally travel to customer sites for meetings and investigations
Skills & Experience
Experience working with MoD policies (e.g. JSP440) and familiarity with NCSC guidance
Experience supporting Secure by Design (SbD) projects
Strong understanding of security risk assessment and control frameworks
Experience applying security architecture principles in complex systems
BPSS with SC – DV required once in role – Subject to ITAR
