Meraki Talent are working with a global banking client, who are looking to appoint a Retail and Private Banking Lawyer for an expanding team in Glasgow.
This role sits within the Non-Lending Consumer Products & Propositions legal team, where you will be part of a friendly, collaborative group of experts providing strategic legal advice and effective legal risk management across a broad consumer product portfolio, including savings, insurance, and private banking offerings.
In this role, you will be responsible for being a trusted advisor to key business stakeholders, helping shape product innovation, guide regulatory change, and safeguard the organisation against emerging legal and regulatory risks.
I am looking to hear from those who have a qualified Lawyer status, with deep expertise in consumer product regulation, with a strong track record advising on product development, simplification, and governance. Applicants should have gained experience in insurance products or private banking, and be able to proactively identify and interpret new and emerging legal and regulatory risks, giving clear, reasoned, and commercially sound guidance.
Key duties will include;
* Develop and implement best-practice legal strategies to strengthen risk management and compliance.
* Provide proactive legal advice across consumer banking, covering regulatory compliance, regulatory change, consumer protection, and broader risk management.
* Represent the organisation in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory enquiries related to consumer banking.
* Draft and review legal documentation, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
* Conduct legal research and analysis to remain ahead of regulatory developments impacting consumer products.
* Design and deliver training programmes to enhance legal and regulatory awareness across the business.
* Identify and communicate changes in laws, rules, and regulations (LRRs), ensuring they are fully reflected in relevant policies, standards, and controls.
