Help Shape the Future of Family Support in Plymouth
Are you looking for a role where your skills in organisation, coordination, and communication will make a real difference? Join Plymouth City Council as a Project and Programme Support Officer working on one of the city’s most ambitious and impactful transformation programmes — Family Hubs. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of an integrated early help and prevention network, aligned to Department for Education (DfE) national guidance and local need.
About The Family Hubs Programme
Family Hubs are central to our approach to improving outcomes for children, young people and families. They offer a ‘one front door’ model to support for families with children aged 0–19 (or up to 25 with SEND), bringing together services such as:
Parenting and relationship support
Health and wellbeing services
Early years development
Employment and housing advice
SEND support
Youth and community engagement
In Plymouth, we currently have 11 Family Hubs and are developing additional satellite hubs to reach new communities. This programme is not just about places – it's about system change: redesigning how services work together, share information, and deliver early intervention that prevents the need for crisis support.
The Family Hubs transformation is a multi-agency, cross-sector initiative, bringing together teams from local authority services, health, education, and the voluntary and community sector.
