Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to play a key role in the MSX Group Finance team who are responsible for the accurate reporting of the Group's financial performance and position internally and externally. The Group Accountant will be responsible for:


Responsibilities

* Preparation of statutory accounts for the UK companies within CaseWare including detailed notes in conjunction with the UK finance team
* Maintenance of monthly accounting for the holding companies including cashbook postings, loans and interest calculations, month end revaluations and the month end close process including agreement of intercompany balances for holding companies
* Management of payments on account
* Preparation of annual confirmation statements and other web filing in conjunction with professional advisors
* Ensure all statutory and tax reporting is completed on time and accurately for businesses supported by the UK team, including UK, Ireland and consolidate branch information for statutory purposes in Dubai, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark
* Assistance with consolidation of group tax provision and monitoring of status of overseas filings
* Work with external tax advisors on more complex tax matters
* Maintain and update working knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including new filing practices, deadlines, and any company-specific information
* Preparation and submission of VAT returns for the UK VAT group
* Prepare and submit corporation tax filings (inhouse) in conjunction with external tax advisors
* Preparation of annual tax packs for the estimation of the UK tax provision for the statutory accounts


Qualifications / Experience

* AAT / part qualified or equivalent relevant experience; strong technical knowledge and solid bookkeeping understanding; experience in a group function desirable
* Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with accountants from across the world reporting into group finance
* Experience using third party consolidation systems and accounts preparation software
* Strong systems and IT skills with the ability to innovate, learn and implement new systems
* Confident communicator with the ability to liaise at all levels within the organisation
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and take ownership of work
* Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
