This is a key position, responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across various site locations within a specified region.
The role involves carrying out maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and building assets in ASDA stores efficiently and cost-effectively, ensuring compliance with Company Health and Safety procedures.
Key responsibilities include maintenance of bakery and catering equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, lighting, building fabric, water services, HVAC, fire, security, and general electrical issues.
Key Accountabilities
Principal Accountabilities
* Represent the company professionally and foster good relationships with colleagues.
* Complete all PPM tasks, log remedial actions, and ensure legal compliance.
* Supervise and support Maintenance Assistants, providing coaching and ensuring adherence to processes.
* Respond promptly to service requests, assess requirements, and carry out repairs.
* Prioritize work to meet timescales and SLAs.
* Communicate repair and maintenance issues to Store Management and RES.
* Conduct surveys, complete reports, and carry out alterations and installations within technical competence.
* Perform general repairs on store sites, including building fabric and surfaces.
* Assist other MSTs as needed.
* Recruit and select qualified Maintenance Assistants following company policies.
* Maintain accurate records and utilize management applications effectively.
* Attend training to stay updated with technical developments, including overnight stays if necessary.
* Comply with Health and Safety policies and ensure documentation is complete and up-to-date.
* Provide coaching and technical training to team members.
* Participate in Out of Hours standby rota and perform plumbing repairs during standby periods.
* Carry out first look inspections for Fire, Security, HVAC, electrical, and general issues.
* Perform other reasonable requests from RES or management.
People Responsibilities
* Recruit, oversee, and manage Maintenance Assistants.
* Manage holiday and absence records via Cascade.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education: GCSE standard; relevant vocational qualifications such as C&G 2382 (18th edition), Level 3 electrical qualifications, and City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection.
Experience: Time served in electrical discipline or industry experience in a similar role.
Technical Knowledge: 3-phase electrics, electrical certification, plumbing, building, and mechanical systems.
Behaviours: Team management, good communication, self-motivated, friendly, helpful.
Specialist Skills: Maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment, ability to work at heights, valid driving license, and minimal supervision capability.
