Our team in Redcar & Cleveland is looking for a Recovery Worker to join our Criminal Justice team in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group. WithYou in Redcar and Cleveland is a free and confidential service for people affected by drugs and alcohol. The service is part of the THRIVE partnership, an integrated substance use, domestic abuse and education/recovery support service. As a Recovery Worker, we offer a starting salary of £25,000, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,000 per year. pro rata For further details please reach out to a member of the recruitment team via recruitment@wearewithyou.org.uk.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a positive, motivated, and experienced individual to lead our Criminal Justice team. The role requires the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a range of criminal justice and partner agencies, including Probation Services, prisons, and other key stakeholders.

As a Team Leader, you will provide strong operational leadership and oversight of a complex caseload, ensuring high standards of practice across the team. You will be responsible for supporting staff in delivering effective risk assessments, care planning, and psychosocial interventions (PSI), while driving performance and achieving positive outcomes for individuals within the criminal justice pathway.

Wigan and Leigh is an integrated drug and alcohol service delivering an asset-based, community-focused approach to treatment. The service specialises in harm reduction, including needle and syringe provision, psychosocial interventions, and opioid substitution treatment. We also facilitate access to detoxification and a wide range of community-based recovery interventions.



Essential Skills

As a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are subject to criminal justice processes experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse and domestic abuse. You will have the opportunity to complete training in both areas, and strengthen your knowledge of these key strands of our service. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. You will develop plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.

We are looking for a dedicated and understanding individual who is eager to help develop the service in supporting our female client group, whilst working collaboratively with the social care and domestic abuse teams.

You will work as part of a team with the aims of:

* understanding your clients
* keeping them safe
* creating a plan they can achieve with your support
* checking in with them and reviewing their progress
* keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
* working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
* continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients
* supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care
* Utilising effective delivery of psychosocial interventions to support clients to successfully comply with court orders and make positive change
