LOCATION: London or Salford; Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £31,800 - £37,033 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

BBC Extend
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. Purpose of the Role
The BBC Audience Planning team is currently looking for an Audience Planner to help deliver tangible, actionable audience insight across the whole BBC portfolio. It is an exciting time for the team; we are rolling our foundational insight about our audiences and brands across the business and the successful candidate will be central to this endeavour.

Your Key Responsibilities and Impact
* Collaborate closely with research, data science and analytics teams to develop a deep understanding of BBC audiences and behaviours
* Translate audience insights into clear, compelling creative and audience strategies that drive impact
* Influence stakeholders and bring cross‑functional teams together to turn insight into meaningful action
* Champion and drive adoption of the Audience Map across the organisation to maximise its effectiveness
* Support the Head of Planning to introduce new approaches that embed insight across the full brand and marketing lifecycle
Your Skills and Experience
* A curious and pragmatic problem solver with a natural flair for strategic thinking; bringing a fresh perspective to every project taken on.
* Experience and working knowledge of necessary tools to help solve strategic problems and develop audience strategies
* Experience working with, and creating impact with, audience insight; comfortable creating simple yet compelling narratives from complex qualitative and quantitative research.
* Brilliant people skills and a collaborative style; someone who can bring different teams and skills together, lead creative discussions or workshops with the energy and resilience to help people develop ideas and make things happen.
* Someone who is passionate, motivated and inspired by the content, services and underlying public purposes of the BBC
Essential Criteria
* Strong ability to translate complex qualitative and quantitative audience insight into clear, compelling creative and business strategies
* Skilled in facilitating workshops or leading creative discussions to generate ideas and alignment
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to drive action across cross‑functional groups
* Strategic thinker with a curious, pragmatic approach to problem solving
* Confident communicator, able to craft simple, engaging narratives from complex information
Desirable
* Proven experience working collaboratively with other teams
* Experience using audience planning tools or frameworks (e.g. segmentation approaches)
* Demonstrated ability to embed insight across brand and marketing lifecycles
* Skilled in facilitating workshops or leading creative discussions to generate ideas and alignment
* Experience supporting senior stakeholders (e.g. Head of Planning level) in shaping new approaches
* Passion for the BBC’s content, services and public purpose, with high levels of motivation and engagement
