Overview
MEP Manager – Gatwick. Contract or Temp to Perm. IR35 assessment to be run (initial findings suggest inside IR35). Salary: £70k - £80k + or £400/day Ltd to £550/day Umbrella (final pricing to be resolved).
The post-pandemic spend in aviation has seen substantial investment in UK airports, particularly in the SE. Gatwick Airport Limited (GAL) has several major projects in pre-con and planning stages, including pier extensions, asset replacement works targeting net zero and modernisation programmes. We are partnered with a principal contractor who have been awarded an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) on a pier refurbishment; they will carry out survey and planning works to finalise methodology, target cost, programme and design for an upgrade of an existing pier which has started to exhibit signs of structural decay and wear.
We need an experienced MEP Manager with experience in MEP design specification and asset survey works to join for an initial 3-4 month period to help put together a full scope for the upgrade of this section of the terminal building.
You will liaise with both the client and the design consultancy, in partnership with your civil, structural, architectural and build colleagues to put together a programme of works to undertake in 2026. The client is keen to retain a core team on site beyond the ECI phase and expects this will be the first of many initiatives this principal contractor will undertake in the coming years.
